DIY Colorful Art with Melted Crayons

Anyone can craft up a masterpiece wall display with this melted crayon idea

Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Foam Board
• Crayons
• Glue
• Hair Dryer
• Plastic Drop Cloth
Easy Step-by-Step Directions:
6 Glue crayons to the foam board, making sure to glue the entire length of the crayon. You can leave the paper on or take it off… it works either way!
7 Protect your work area with a plastic drop cloth. This can get a little messy!
8 Lean the board against a stable vertical surface, like a wall or chair.
9 When the glue has set, use a hair dryer to melt the crayons using the hottest setting. Concentrate on one small area at a time. Direct the air in the way you want the wax to drip, being careful not to spatter the melting wax on yourself (it’s hot, so if your hair dryer has a diffuser, use it to help minimize any spatters).
10 It will take up to 10 minutes for the crayons to get hot enough to drip down the board, so be patient… your hard work will pay off when you see the crayons start running.
11 Allow your creation to cool completely before hanging on display in your home or classroom.
Fun Ideas:
• Line crayons up in rainbow order for a cheerful, blended effect.
• Melt green crayons and flip upside down after they cool. Glue faux flowers to the drips to make a cute garden.
• Melt blue and gray crayons and, once cooled, glue cotton balls on top to make clouds.
Melt colors onto your foam board and use a sponge to mix the melted wax for a watercolor look.
